General Description

Parkland is 4.8 kms northeast of Coral Springs and 60 kms north of Miami. It is in Broward county. The city is part of the greater Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area. From the rustic country houses and elegant homes to contemporary residential communities, Parkland offers a variety of choices for people considering the purchase of a home. At this time, 47 residential communities exist within Parkland.  The city's conservative approach toward residential development and its devotion to environmental planning has enabled the community to maintain its park-like atmosphere.

People

There are approximately 22,000 residents in the city, and a long-term projection suggests another 13,000 people may move in.  About 75% of adults living in Parkland are married. The average family size is 3.42 people. The average income of families, as reported in 2000, was about $108,000. This fact means that Parkland is considered a city comprised of wealthy people. It has a stable middle class.
