Things to Do in Highland Beach
Many residents of Highland Beach are interested in protecting the Loggerhead sea turtles that visit each year to lay eggs. Nesting and hatchling sea turtles are strongly protected by residents and officials.
Guided sea turtle walks are provided May, June and July. Visitors can view a nesting sea turtle and learn about their life cycle.
Highland Beach is located east of the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, the home of hundreds of species of wildlife. Many bird groups spend their winter season at the refuge, and alligators commonly appear. Is is also close to the several of the finest golf courses in Florida.
